My Dream
The discoveries from various archeological sites in Thailand have made it clear that civilization has flourished in this area since prehistoric times. It is unfortunate, however, that many of our most precious objects have been taken abroad and have thus been lost to the country.
I strongly believe that such priceless reminders of our heritage do not belong to anyone in particular but to the whole nation and that they should be kept in Thailand where they can be cherished by future generations who wish to study what our ancestors achieved.
The Prasart Museum is the realization of my dream to house in one place prehistoric artifacts, Buddha images, statues of Brahman gods, pottery, Thai furniture, Thai paintings and Thai and Chinese porcelain as well as objects from other parts of Asia and elsewhere.
The treasures on display are chosen from amongst those I have collected all my life. I hope that they will give the same pleasure to the art lovers who come to visit the museum and study the collections as they have always given me.

"We visited this private museum yesterday. Peter, who showed us around, was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We met the owner at the beginning and end of the tour - what a lovely quiet, unassuming and very accomplished person! We loved the lush garden setting and appreciated the fact that whenever shoes had to be removed to enter the typical Thai building, there were several garden seats nearby."
